The Lagos State Government has set to build technologically-inclined entrepreneurs in order to harness the technological potential in the state.
Following this according to reports, it says that Yaba Industrial Estate is already being converted to an ICT and innovation hall where technology -based innovations would be provided.
This was revealed at the ‘Lagos Business Clinic for Techpreneurs ’ at the Zone Tech Park , Gbagada by The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment , Mrs Uzamat Akinbile -Yusuf.
Her statement reads thus:-
“The state government has demonstrated its commitment to wealth creation and creation of job opportunities through its investment in programmes capable of expanding boundaries for new ventures.
“The government , earlier in the year , sponsored 15 Lagos -based techpreneur and start – ups to the ICT summit at the Johns Hopkins University , USA . The government is harnessing every opportunity to advance the compliance level of young technepreurs.”
She further said that the business clinic was designed to expose the techpreneurs to basic business etiquette and access to fundings, among other issues.
According to her, the fact that entrepreneurs constantly make mistakes in an attempt to boost their trades makes it invaluable for young entrepreneurs to have mentors .
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Wealth Creation and Employment , Mrs Temiwunmi Tope -Banjoko , expressed the hope that the facilitators would inspire the mentees to excel.
